Me and The Boys

A Great Sunday, just Me and The Boys

A picnic in the front yard...

with a game of Candy Land after dinner.

A bored moment didn't last long because their Mama put 'em to work...

folding some laundry.

It was a productive day yet special at the same time:)

Science Project

For about two weeks, Kuper has been asking me if he could do a "science project". I'm not sure where this lovely idea came from but it turned out to be very entertaining for him and Kade both.

He went into the pantry and picked out all the necessary ingredients and chose his preferred bowl and mixing tools. The line up on the counter was quite interesting! He sat on the counter next to his bowl while he ordered Kade around the kitchen, telling him what to bring, what to put away, etc. Let me just say he was beaming with joy. Power over the big brother is a magnificent thing to this boy!!

It was Kuper's "special project" and I'm pretty sure it made him feel special:)

The end result was purple liquid and smelled like peppermint extract:)

The Red, White, and Blue

This, then, is the state of the union:  free and restless, growing and full of hope.  So it was in the beginning.  So it shall always be, while God is willing, and we are strong enough to keep the faith.  ~Lyndon B. Johnson

Cowboy Town

A visit to "Cowboy Town" brought this special couple of 55 years (total strangers from the tour bus) our way for a little bit of marriage advice... because I asked. They were soooo cute holding hands, I had to ask what they would suggest I do to make it to 55 years with my hubby, too. Their words:

*Enjoy the children*
*Enjoy each other*
*Respect one another*

Thanks cute tourist people!!

The boys were so well behaved while I shopped the Columbia Nursery, I treated them to ice cream at the Columbia Park... aka "Cowboy Town".

A Good Start

This Saturday morning, the first day of August, was started off right with some coffee and a trip to farmers market.

We went with the Sunflowers today

Can't go without Cannales from Bon Appetit!
It's always the first stop in the morning.

Although a little smoky out, it's going to be a beautiful day:-)

More Vacation!

More vacation pictures! I almost forgot that I had so many more.
Here, we are trying to attempt posing with "Opa" and "Debbie Dear". Kuper is absent due to a grumpy attitude. Big surprise!!
Having fun with new friends, Opa and Debbie Dear

A Heavenly Vacation

For the last week we have been in beautiful Southern California. We were invited to stay with the Mockabee family at the lovely Mittmann home. It was nothing less than a heavenly vacation for me and my boys. Beach time, pool time, and time with amazing friends! It was a memorable week and I am so grateful to both families for their hospitality and love.
Practicing in the pool

Lots of laughs!!

Taking a very needed break from the pool... geez, they look tired:-)

Little Climber, Everett

Kade had fun helping with Everett this week. I think they bonded.

Happy Brothers!

Kade and Kuper both LOVED the beach. They were excited about the waves, the surfers, and the sand. It was a new experience that they will never forget.

We visited Balboa Pier and watched the waves until it was dark. It was so dark when we packed up our things that we couldn't find Kuper's shoe! A cute little green flip flop is out there somewhere...
