winter-y days

Power outages are super fun when you're 8 and 5...  reading books with a flashlight and playing hide and go seek.

Good times!!

Here are a few things the boys have been up to...

Kruzee has play time while the bubba's are at school.

The big boys are now in charge of decorating the mantle...

Schnoogies

Date Morning

Last year when my mom started taking Kade to school, she began the ever so popular tradition of date morning. Once a week they leave a little early and stop for treats. Since Chad was home yesterday, I thought I would take my little wild man to Schnoogs for a date too. It was our special morning:)

Highlight and Lowlight

Today was incredible! I was busy with work but in the middle of my productive day, the boys and I were able to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Fresh air and sunshine have never felt so good!

I am praising the Lord today, not only for the gorgeous day but for blessing Chad and I with work. We have so many friends and family struggling right now and I just praise Him for providing work for us. We do "highlight and lowlight" with the boys at bedtime and they ALWAYS say their lowlight is Dad going to work, and for good reason... they LOVE him and miss him! Well, although I love him and miss too, I had to explain tonight why it wasn't my lowlight as well:) I am truly grateful that he has a job to "leave us" for.

Special Ops

The boys are Daddy's boys.
They chose to play "special ops" with him this last Sunday.
These kinds of "missions" are often being assigned at the Bankston home.

The boys watch the TV show, "Special Ops" on the military channel. Hence, the name "whiskey". You'd get it if you saw the program:)

A Proud Family

Kade was nominated by his teacher to be Student of the Month!
She said he deserves praise for his hard work:)
We are a very proud family.
He is growing into a fine young man.
I cannot believe how he's grown. It's amazing!

A Blessed 2009

It may be kind of late but...
I wanted to post special memories of 2009 and as you can see, the family has many.
We were far from short of blessings this past year.
I could have arranged hundreds of pictures- hopefully I'll get them all into an album someday.
Thank you friends and family for being apart of our lives. You make our lives rich and full of happiness. We look forward to all that 2010 will bring.

Santa Claus is Coming To Town!!

Christmas morning was magical.
The boys awoke with smiles from ear to ear, saying "it's the day" and "he came, he came"!!!
Little did they know that Santa was paying a special visit later that morning:)
It was perfect.

Santa thought Mrs. Cannon was quite cute.... hence the belly laughs.

Still waiting for baby Kruz!MaMa's (or should I say Daddy's) little football fan!!Kade's become quite the little Tarzan
I am proud of my October Glory trees in the back yard. I planted three of them last fall. It's rewarding to see them flourish and give us such a beautiful backdrop to the yard as they change color.
